Home Cities!!?!?
I was thinking, that maybe each profession could have thier own home cities like in WoW.
Like necros could have an Underworld-based city for their own.
ect ect ect.
and it would be like at ToA where you'd have to do something to get in, in this case have that profession as primary.
Anybody wanna help me with contacting arenanet and propose this idea?

Necro exclusive armor shops. Necro skill shops. Necro skill trainer. Necro exclusive battlegrounds. Testing new necro skills for small price only in one training room and once you leave you no longer have the skill. Except for every class. And their could be weapon shops, necro auction houeses...etc. etc. etc.

Hmm...I think this actually could have potential, even though it sounds like a rip off WoW. Using the example of a necro, possibly the trainer could have a set of necromancer primary only skills, but that would add another dimension to the game. I don't see the point in necro armor shops, you can already buy only necro armors if you are a necro.

it sounds fun and all...but i would like to visit a city even though im not the correct profession. For example, a monk primary visiting a warrior city. I also think its kinda useful. Just do a rip-off of WoW. If a person choses to be a Warrior primary, they get spawned into the warrior city. Thats where he/she learns skills for his/hers primary and secondary class...it would be fun for evry1.

That spawn setup would drastically change the game.

It sounds like a fun idea. It just wouldn't fit into GW. :\

i was thinking it over, just spawning in pre searing ascalon is too nooby for veteran players like most of us are...we could just jump in and be able to communicate directy with the useful people. and i concur, let all classes be able to go into primary cities cuz i think it would be fun to check out the other places. but eh, i dont know...just a random idea popped into my head

the only problem with your idea is THIS ISNT WOW AND IT NEVER WILL BE. adding home cities for each profession would completely screw up the entire story. and what about people with a secondary profession (ie the majority of gw players). can they go to both cities?
imo, not a good idea.

Mesmer town would end up looking camp with thrills and throw cushions everywhere despite how awesome they are.

Horrible idea. You would get sick of looking at your own prof all the time.
There's no reason for this. If you want WoW, play WoW! Don't turn GW into it....
(People who are sick of pre-searing amaze me. It's the best area in the game. If you don't like it, grab your rez sig and secondary prof, and get out ASAP.)

no one is trying to turn GW into WOW. I hate it when ppl say that. this idea is good but i dont think it will work. at least not in this chapter. If they were to implement this i would rather be able to choose my starting city from like a choice of 2 or 3 cities. that way if my friends are different profs we can still quest together at the start.
I dont mind pre-searing either it is a nice starting area. I actually hate old ascalon. it is the most annoying part of the game. not much scenery to look at until you get to yak's.........i get bored easily.

I think that's kind of lame. What would be the purpose...?

This idea sounds like Age of Empires 3. Each civilization had some unique buildings like a mosque for Ottoman. GW IS UNIQUE AND IT WILL NEVER BE WoW!

The only things I'd like to see being ripped off World of Warcraft are:
1) Auction house
2) The ''e-mail'' like messaging that could be done, ingame.

primary prof exclusive areas. why? i mean, whats the point, apart from being there for its own sake.
I would love to see a auction house, and i beleive that they are working on one, but exclusive areas would not work, and besides we alredy have the GH, and i think that needs a few extras, rather than the towns.
